The second-hand marketplace Users Express Frustration Over Size Changes
Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information.
This online marketplace has altered its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel without notifying all users about the change.
Social Media Response
Countless users and merchants are posting online stating that platform listings now display a different size category versus the original listing due to the recalibration.
The company said the revised method more closely matches other platforms.
It has advised users to examine their items and update the measurements by hand if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.
Sizing System Changes
Before the change, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated.
Manual Updates
A different user, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she explained.
Service Background
The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.
It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: previously, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
